With all of the talk about moving SharePoint into “the cloud”, whether with Office365 or one of the other strong players in the marketplace, developers have to rethink some of the methods they have used successfully in the past. Sandboxed solutions, while still very powerful, impose development limitations, which can stymie traditional SharePoint developers. Additionally, today’s SharePoint users want more from their applications, both in terms of functionality and the overall user experience. At the same time, CIOs and CTOs want to get more “bang for their buck”, spending less to accomplish more.
