Our jQuery Library for SharePoint Web Services Is Available on Codeplex

We released our jQuery library for SharePoint Web Services to Codeplex today.  You can find it at http://spservices.codeplex.com; the current release is 0.2.3.

We’ll keep the existing demo page up and running on the Sympraxis Consulting demo site and try to keep it current with each new release.  The demo page basically mirrors our test harness for the library.

Additional things which are on our lists of potential to-dos:

  • Taking UpdateListItems and breaking it out into separate CRUD functions.
  • Offering separate option abstractions for the functions that don’t require CAML knowledge; we’d build up the CAML from the pieces.
  • Offering options for the output as something more friendly or useful than the default XML.  JSON? Arrays? Any thoughts or requests?
  • Building composite functions which tie together multiple Web Services calls to provide cool additional functionality.

  1. Looks really promising.
I can’t wait to have some free time to give it a try. A lot of customers do want to have some (minor) new stuff added after a project has been released without going to the whole release cycle again.

    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hello Marc – Thanks for your work on that lib and for making it available!

Just FYI: The link to codeplex does not work (the URL contains some extra characters).

    So long

    Stefan
